Have you ever wanted a nostalgic Sister, Sister watch, but not sure where to find the classic online sitcom? Fortunately, all six seasons are now available to stream on Netflix, starting Tuesday, September 1.
Although Millennials grew up watching Sister,
Sister on The WB (ABC for the first two seasons), and ultimately on Disney Channel and other syndicated cable networks, the sitcom was not available for broadcast online. In July, Netflix announced that it had acquired seven classic sitcoms from Black for streaming, including Moesha, Girlfriends, The Parkers, and many more.

Sister, Sister plays Tia and Tamera Mowry as twin sisters who were separated at birth and later reunited by chance. Through tenacity and circumstances, Tia and Tamera convince their single adoptive parents to move in together, creating a dysfunctional family at the same time. As they also navigate the ups and downs of high school, the twins face a new family life.
The series first premiered on ABC in 1994 before moving
The WB for its third season and the rest of its series. Sister, Sister became the first of many shows on the net to celebrate getting 100 episodes. Fans can probably still remember the iconic opening credits from the entire series and sing along to the captivating theme song.
Will there be a sister who will wake up, sister?
As with the most popular series of the 90s, there is talk of a possible rebirth of Sister, Sister, first relaunched in 2018, when Jackée Harry actually confirmed that one was in the works. Obviously, given that we haven’t seen a reboot or recovery, it hasn’t happened yet. But discussions could resume once the series begins streaming on Netflix and regains popularity.
Whether Sister, Sister becomes popular enough on Netflix to warrant further discussion of a revival or not, is a welcome addition to all of our checklists. Not all shows have to come back for a new edition of what has already worked in the past. Instead, now is the perfect time to revisit a beloved black sitcom and enjoy the laughs, memories, and nostalgia for a highly entertaining show.
