August 28, 2020 by Victor Leave a Comment

ANSONIA – Although the city’s United Illuminating customers were mostly spared in terms of power outages in Thursday’s storm, thousands of Ansonia’s UI customers are expected to lose power on Thursday evening due to a planned outage, the police.

The move is necessary, police say, due to a downed tree on a transmission line at the Ansonia UI substation.

“The user interface will have to cut the power of several thousand residents” from 10 pm. Thursday, police said.

The outage is expected to impact residents living on and around North Main Street, to the Seymour Town Line and from East Main Street east to the Woodbridge Town Line.
