Justin Smik had two hits in a sixth-matched sixth game, including a two-pass single, and Milwaukee brewers avoided a series of three games on Sunday that visited the Cincinnati Reds with a 9-3.
After four innings and the loss of the first two games of the series, the brewers stood out to keep the game in the game scheduled for the weekend. Yelich and Hury both reached the solo home in seventh place in Milwaukee, who slowly walked out of the star Brandon Woodruff. Like Gray, Woodruff was stable with a 2.08 ERA in the first three starts, but lasted only four innings, giving up two runs, two walks and three hits in 91 shots.
Brents Suters (2-0) won the Milwaukee with two elimination relief rings.
